Day 1: we completed an ice breaker and discussed the course. Students should have brought home forms for signatures. In honors, this included a permission slip for our first quarter novel.
Day 2: we began notes for our first unit; RHETORIC.
In Honors English students read and annotated a speech from Nelson Mandela and taken home a template for summarizing the speech in their own words.
Day 3: we continue our work of summarizing and paraphrasing using the Nobel Speech from Malala Yousafazi. Students used a template to complete a summary in their own words.
